The name Zooangzi,
refers to Zhuang Zi in phonetic writing, a taoist philosopher and
his book of wisdom written approx. 360-290 BCE. The book transfers
it's wisdom through storytelling full of proze, stories and parables.
It is one of the first books of wisdom where creativity as a concept
is addressed. In what may be the earliest Chinese dragon ballad I
quote: " the dragon moves freely from an underground water home
to an irrigated field. Then, driven by a drought, it flies to heaven
to conquer a new empire. The dragon is now believed immortal and omnipresent
with abilities to change form or become invisible".
The Zooangzi centre for applied creativity and creative leadership
does not base it's objectives nor methodologies on any religion
or idealism. By adopting the name of Zooangzi we do want to express
that creativity is much more then has been addressed sofar by management
guru's from the 20 and 21st century. The book reveals much more
a holistic way of thinking where complexity is respected by 'seeing'
the overall structure, seeing the way of least resistance and then
using the least effort for the maximum returns.
Naming our organization ZooangZi is also an expression of hope.
Hope that our work with our clients & trainees transforms (symbol
of the butterflies) and that they can truly become sustainable creative
in their lives, careers and organizations. History shows over and
over again that applied creativity and creative leadership seemingly
effortless and holistic brings maximum returns. |
